There’s been a lot of talk lately about "foot and
mouth" disease. A close variant of that malady has been plaguing
mankind since the Garden of Eden, when Adam said…"Uh, the woman made
me do it."
Call it "foot in mouth" disease.
The latest reported case involves one Reverend Pat
Robertson, host of the 700 Club and founder of the Christian Coalition.
Decades of important, selfless work on behalf of suffering
humanity were abandoned with one misstated opinion. When Reverend Pat
defended the Communist Chinese policy of forced abortion during an interview
with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, you could almost hear the phones ringing in
Virginia Beach and CBN members canceling their monthly pledges.
Stinging rebukes have come from traditional allies like the
Family Research Council, as well as natural foes who for once claimed the
moral high ground. Kate Michelman of the National Abortion and Reproductive
Rights Action League said her organization opposes forced abortion in China
and was "astonished" by Robertson’s remarks.
During the interview, Robertson addressed the question of
the sexual imbalance that is sure to result from china’s "one
baby" policy. He lamented the effect on racial purity that might result
when Chinese males are forced to take Indonesian women or others as brides.
Since Chinese families are limited to just one child, many families are
choosing to abort girl babies in order to perpetuate the family line.
Shocking as it is to see a stalwart of the pro-life movement
offer limited support to the slaughter of millions of unborn children in
China, the policy seems to be gaining support elsewhere in the world, as
well.
An article appearing in last Saturday’s New York Times
indicated that parents want male children to look after the family property
in India and they, too, have resorted to killing unwanted, unborn females.
The figures in India are not yet as startling as among their
Chinese counterparts, but for every 1,000 males born on the subcontinent,
927 girls are birthed. That number is down from 962 back in 1981.
Now, let’s take this "unnatural selection" to
the next logical step. Is it any wonder that the same Satanic powers that be
who are encouraging all out war on unborn children in general and unborn
females in particular are also pushing for the widespread acceptance of
homosexual rights?
Those who see mankind as nothing more than another species
of animal cannot help but promote animalistic behaviors such as same sex
sodomy. And what would it matter to these cruel advocates of culling the
human population if a few more million homosexuals fall prey to diseases
like AIDS and Hepatitis B?
Whenever a man or woman of God uses the wisdom of the world
to condone the agenda of Satan, he or she is on slippery ground. We can only
hope and pray that Pat Robertson will regain his moral footing in short
order and reclaim his customary place, beaming "words of
knowledge" and righteousness nightly to those Americans still stumbling
in the dark.
