The 701 Club

Televangelist Pat Robertson has gotten more than his share of bad press and criticism in recent years.

I, for one, refuse to participate in the latest round of "Pat bashings," being orchestrated by American Muslim groups.

On his "700 Club" show, last Thursday, Pat Robertson called Islam "a violent religion bent on world domination."

Bingo.

You may recall the pile of "doggy doo" Robertson stepped in last fall when he and fellow Christian leader Jerry Falwell pointed out that God judges sin in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

Falwell was quickly cowed into retreating and retracting after the media firestorm hit.

Robertson, however, appears to be ready for Round 2 and I’m honored to be in his corner.

The major responsibility of any Christian is upholding the truth. No matter how Muslim leaders may deny, sidestop and confuse the issue, the truth can no longer be ignored.

As Robertson says, "Ladies and gentlemen, I have taken issue with our esteemed president in regard to his stand in saying Islam is a peaceful religion. It's just not. And the Koran makes it very clear, if you see an infidel, you are to kill him."

Doesn’t sound too peaceful to me.

Robertson continued, "Islam is not a peaceful religion that wants to coexist. They want to coexist until they can control, dominate and then if need be destroy."

Let’s check the record. Islam has gone to war with Christianity and Judaism wherever it has determined the "infidels" are weak enough to be conquered. This is not ancient history. It continues, today.

Islam is today at war with opposing religions in Israel, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Sudan, Nigeria and more.

It is persecuting Christians and other infidel minority groups in Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and elsewhere throughout the Muslim world.

Britain’s Islamic leaders recently called for a terrorist campaign against Jews living in the United Kingdom.

Of course, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was recently kidnapped and killed in Pakistan by Muslim militants who wanted to teach the American Jew a lesson.

The deaths of countless Christians and Jews can be laid directly at the doorstep of Muhammad. How can Islam be described as anything less than a "bloody religion?"

Congratulations, Pat Robertson, for having the guts to take a stand and speak the truth. You can add to the support of your 700 Club this admiring fan who appreciates your willingness to be politically incorrect for the Gospel’s sake.

From now on, feel free to refer to your organization as the "701 Club."
