Through "Sick & Sin"

Picture this scenario. A woman decides she wants to die. A man decides he wants to kill. An amoral "free market" scenario allows the two to come together for fun and profit. It’s none of society’s business, right?

Wrong.

Dr. Kevorkian discovered there are still vestiges of morality left in the American judicial system after a crusading prosecutor finally put him away for conducting one too many "assisted suicides."

A similar moral drama is about to play itself out, this week, in Rosemont, Illinois…unless God or man step in to prevent some of the sickest perversions known to man from public display.

It may be left for God to intervene. Rosemont Police apparently have no problem with the February 15-17 "Vicious Valentine 5" convention planned at the O’Hare Ramada by a Sadomasochist group known as "Leather Quest."

The group is populated with individuals who enjoy inflicting pain on others and those who receive gratification from being "punished."

I will spare all our sensitivities the indignity of announcing the workshop titles that involve all manner of shame, pain and torture. In cases where blood or bodily fluids were likely to be shed, group organizers urged participants to "clean up after your scene."

To its credit, The O’Hare Radisson cancelled the convention when the nature of the event was brought to management’s attention. The same could not be said for the O’Hare Ramada, which quickly saw an opportunity to make an extra buck, and found room on its calendar for "cutting," "inserting objects" and "sexual torture."

The Ramada chain had previously hosted similar S&M events in Georgia, Massachusetts and Maryland.

Facilitating the event will be off duty Chicago police officers, hired to provide security for those prepared to commit sexual assaults of the most flagrant variety.

Last, but not least, pharmaceutical giant Glaxo-Smith will also put in an appearance at the Sodomy fest, offering free Hepatitis shots.

Kathy Valente of Concerned Women for America is aghast. She says, "This event is promoting the very behavior that transmits Hepatitis and other STD’s including AIDS. This is a public health nightmare!"

It’s time for the overriding public interest to prevail and godly officials to drive events like these into the back alleys where they belong.

America can no longer publicly accept any lifestyle "through sick and sin" on the basis of "tolerance."

If we don’t put our foot down, now, and say, "enough"…very soon God may do it for us.
