Peace on Earth

"And the government shall be upon His shoulders…"

Thousands of years ago, the prophet Isaiah transcribed that promise transmitted by the Holy Spirit to the sin-sick, cynical populace of planet Earth.

If it weren’t for Christmas, year one, we might never perceive how much things have really changed.

We might become discouraged, pointing to a never-ending list of tinhorn despots and the hopeless citizenry on which they thrive.

The craving for power that seduced King Herod to slaughter the innocents in a demonic bid to protect his throne has never abated. Millions have perished in wars fought over invisible national boundaries. Tidal waves of religiously-inspired terror have swept generations of "infidels" into early graves.

And like the angelic "watchers" of Noah’s day, we, the journalists of the world, could do little more than observe the unchanging nature of fallen man and shield ourselves in a Lucite shell of objectivity…

If it weren’t for Christmas.

When the heavenly host appeared to the shepherds on that first Christmas Day, they reported the biggest story of all time. The first step in God’s plan to establish a righteous "New World Order," had been achieved.

"For unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given."

As Jesus would tell his tormenters 33 years later, the Kingdom of God had come and was "within us." Unlike the externally imposed government of man, God’s rule began inside the human heart. Motivated by love, the citizens of Heaven would turn the world upside down as ambassadors of hope, speaking on behalf of…

"The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace."

Yes, peace was now possible in a world filled with stress and strife. As individuals found that peace with God through their Messiah, they would find peace with each other. And one day, the secret kingdom of God would push from power those infernal imposters, the Anti-Christ and his False Prophet, replacing them as naturally and predictably as daybreak expels the darkest night.

"Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end."

No more cover-ups. No more scandals. No more corruption.

Government of the Father. By the Son. Through the Spirit. For the People.

The process that began two thousand years ago in a Bethlehem stable has been overlooked and underreported in recent days. But let me bring you some "good news" this Christmas.

Jesus Christ still sits on the throne. Soon, He will enlarge the invisible borders of His heavenly kingdom to include everyone remaining on planet earth.

"To establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever."

Very good news, indeed!

From all of us at the Beezley household and Web Today…a very, Merry Christmas.
