Gore Sells Out!!!

For the past eight years, we’ve discovered that everything managed by the Clinton/Gore administration has come with a price tag attached.

From overnight stays at the White House to seats on lucrative Commerce Department junkets around the world, that price has traditionally been measured in dollars and cents.

Now, after eight years as Clinton’s understudy, Presidential hopeful Al Gore wants us to ignore his backroom deals with former Russian Prime Minister Victor Chernomyrdin.

The sorry fact is, these transactions did cost all of us a huge sum in U.S. greenbacks and a whole lot more.

CNN Anchorman Bernard Shaw (8/30/99) pointed to the role Gore had, chairing a commission on bilateral relations between the U.S. and Russia. He discussed the diversion of ten billion dollars in IMF bank loans to Russian political criminals and Gore’s support for those IMF loans.

But the American people…all of us…have also had stolen from us a huge measure of our safety and security thanks to Al Gore’s treachery

The facts have been revealed to us by stories printed in the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Times. Al Gore promised Chernomyrdin he would not blow the whistle on Russian arms sales to a terrorist nation, Iran.

At the time, Russia was in the process of transferring advanced Kilo class submarines and devastating "wake torpedoes" to Iran, along with tanks and armored personnel carriers. The threats these weapons still pose to our servicemen, to the world’s oil supply and to our economy cannot be overstated.

Even more troublesome is the nuclear reactor that Chernomyrdin sold to the Ayatollah. It can be used to produce nuclear weapons, which could someday be used to threaten the United States and our friends around the world.

Al Gore failed to notify Congress of the transfers, which violated U.S. law and should have prompted the imposition of swift, strict penalties against Russia’s terrorism enablers.

That did not happen. Even Secretary of State Madeline Albright admitted that Gore’s oral agreement prevented the American law from being properly enforced. In these quarters, the words "obstruction of justice" come to mind.

As the "Chief Executive," our President is responsible for aggressively enforcing all federal laws.

If Al Gore can’t play by the rules while serving as our number-two man, how can the American people trust him with the biggest job promotion in the "free world?"

A quote in USA Today by House Majority Leader Dick Armey, a Texas Republican, pretty well sums up the problem. Armey said, "Clinton-Gore policy was to help Russia become a peaceful and productive free-market democracy. Instead, Russia has become a looted and bankrupt zone of nuclearized anarchy."

As "inventor of the Internet," Al Gore can be forgiven for a little harmless rewriting of history. But as sales agent for the transfer of illegal technology to a rogue nation that hates us, Al Gore’s reckless actions have put all of our lives at risk.

Even if it might be something we can forgive…this Tuesday, November 7th, it’s something we dare NOT forget!
