Reno,
Go Home!
There are days I would rather be writing about something
else, like the great deal I got on a Cub Scout shirt for my seven-year-old
son at E-Bay or the beauty of our Virginia countryside.
Anything but Janet Reno.
Writing about this lady brings out the very worst in me. I
find it hard to erase the mental images of Waco, Texas, a raging inferno,
fed by Reno’s hordes of bloodthirsty federal accomplices, the cries of 76
dying Branch Davidians, burned to death on the altar of her professional
ambition.
Child murderers and I don’t get along too well.
She became impossible to ignore, this week, with the
announcement that Baylor University in Waco had invited her to speak on
campus, next month, as part of its President’s Forum.
Reportedly, she is to share her recollections of the
"child roast" as experienced from a secure "rear area"
in her Washington D.C. bunker.
I’m certain she will share her "heartrending"
decision making process…the agony of the moment the FBI set fire to…uh,
excuse me…the agony of the moment David Koresh set fire to the religious
retreat (Forgive me, Janet. At times, I still lapse back into truth.), and
all the work that went into maintaining the cover-up for her remaining seven
years in office.
Some gutsy reporter may actually get around to asking Janet
how she had the chutzpah to keep her job after telling Congress that she was
fully responsible for the debacle.
It was a crime where no one did the time.
And now, the chief perpetrator is returning to the scene of
the crime.
We’ve been told that extra police security will be on hand
to protect her during next month’s Janet Reno "Victory Tour."
I predict they won’t be able to shield her from 76 shrill
voices crying out for justice as Ms. Reno tries drifting off to sleep,
September 13th.
