This is a Plan???

November 15, 2001 WebToday --  First we encourage the Northern Alliance to take Mazar e Sharif by bombing the heck out of the front lines around that city.  Then, after the Alliance has accomplished this goal and much more, we tell them to stop.  Don't go after Kabul, the capitol of Afghanistan, even if you think you can take it.  Of course that is a moot question, now that the Alliance walked into Kabul with little resistance, but we asked them not to do so.  It might upset Pakistan, our coalition partner, without whose help we could not bomb the military targets in Afghanistan.  This same Pakistan who is sending volunteers to the Taliban.  This same Pakistan who has supported the Taliban for years against the Northern Alliance, which is primarily composed of Uzbeks and Tajiks (tribes of Northern Afghanistan and Southern Russia, who are also of the Muslim faith).

At the same time we are issuing all of these "go" and "no go" orders to the Northern Alliance, we are declaring a $1 billion dollar 'aid' package for the Pakistan nation for their help in allowing us to use their airspace for our bombers to get to the Taliban.  Of course India is watching all of this with a jealous eye and we are undoubtedly giving India the same amount secretly so they won't turn against us.  It is surprising that Pakistan did not require us to support their cause and help them take Kashmir away from India.  These are the pitfalls that await those who practice, as we do, Dollar Diplomacy.

And now, in order to mollify the Muslim states in the coalition, we come to the matter of Palestine.  No longer is it called the Palestinian Authority, but by the singles word 'Palestine', as in the State of Palestine.  We are acknowledging that there will be two nations in the area, Israel and Palestine when we use the single word 'Palestine'.  Never mind that the Muslims consider Israel an occupying enemy, and that the Jews must be driven from the land.  Establishing Palestine as a neighboring nation to Israel bodes no comfort for the Jews.  The Muslims have vowed to take back the territory now called Israel.  If persecution of the Jews occurs (and it will), we must be reminded of the Book of Revelations where at least one interpretation foretells the Second Coming of Christ, that He will not allow the Jews to be destroyed a second time.

In the face of all of our political governance of our military, which results in a hideous, unintelligible war by proxy; where good military men are confounded by whether to obey the Pentagon or the State Department, do we really have a plan?  Or does Christ have a plan?
