General Powell should be 'busted' back to private and sent
back to a Basic Training Center.
Has he forgotten how to keep in step? Or is he listening to a different
drummer?
When the president gives such an excellent speech as he did to congress,
outlining our goals and priorities, should anyone take it upon himself to
'modify' or 'characterize' his remarks to the American people? Secretary of
State Collin Powell did just that at a press conference the other day. Since
Powell is a 'moderate' Republican, our Socialist Liberal Media scooped up
his words like manna from heaven. And then gleefully gave us a conflict
which sells newspapers and TV time. Powell should not be holding press
conferences
unless he is certain that he is supporting the president. The Media eats it
up. He disputed Bush's statement that we would punish the Taliban by saying
that we really just wanted those people who were sheltering bin Laden. He
even hinted that we would resume aid to the Afghanistan nation if "they
come to their senses." This is the same old dollar diplomacy that is a
primary cause of our problem. "If you do as we want you to do, we will
give you money. How much is negotiable". Taxpayer money! We have
already given the Taliban $140 million dollars this year. What is wrong with
our State Department? This is just a continuation of the old Clinton
debacle.
Powell can call press conferences at the drop of a hat and the Media will
come drooling because he is a Liberal. He calls it 'moderate'. Condelezza
Rice gets little or no attention from the Media because she is a
conservative, and conservatives are the enemy, according to the Liberal
Socialist Media. The Lady marches better than the General does. Why do
we send such mixed signals to our friends (and enemies)? Why does
Bush endure all of this pussyfooting around? Why does anyone think, as
Powell does, that building a coalition is more important than punishing the
terrorists? Is this some master plan to confuse the enemy? Or does it just
confuse our friends? Or does it confuse everybody who reads it?

We read that Rev. Jesse Jackson has invited himself to lead a 'peace
delegation' in Kabul, Afghanistan with the Taliban. Perhaps we would be
doing Jackson a favor by reminding him that while he is in that Islamic
country, he is allowed by their law to have multiple wives. Perhaps he
should take Karin Stanford along for the ceremony, and thus legitimize their
daughter. We should welcome this self-effacing humble man of God's efforts
with one caveat. We should provide him with a first class ticket at taxpayer
expense. But it should read "one way" to Afghanistan.
