The Senior Conservative
Recount Post Portem
By Dick O'Connor
Why do we pay any attention at all to the screams of outrage from the liberals claiming that the courts (the US Supreme Court) picked our president? This follows the teachings of the master propagandist Goebels, of Nazi fame, who taught that 'if you repeat a lie often enough, the public will believe it'. This is the mantra of the liberals. They conveniently forget that the Florida Supreme Court revived a dying Gore hand recount of pro-Gore counties, trying to override a US Supreme Court decision that had previously suspended the recount. The six liberal Democratic judges of the Florida Supreme Court just ignored the instructions from the US Supreme Court, and tried to administer CPR to a d dying patient, brushing aside the rules of the game. This was the second example of a state high court (Florida) trying to ignore the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling. The first case remanded back to the state the original order to continue the recount of disputed ballots, asking for details of the process by which the Florida court arrived at the decision to resume recounts over the rulings of a Circuit Court Judge, one N. Sanders Sauls. The Florida Court delayed answering the US Court until they had again restarted the recount, and really did not respond to the US Supreme Court until the US Court had shot them down a second time, and the question of remanding had become moot. If the logic of the liberals had tilted the election for Gore, then the same logic tells us that any losing candidate could request a recount in his areas of favorable votes, and recount and recount until the desired figure was attained. This is exactly what the liberal Gore machine was trying to do. On top of that, they were wanting to determine the intend of voters with the use of heavily Democratic counters in these Democratic precincts. They really were reaching! Pay no attention to the screams of the liberals. They have been; defeated, and they don't like it. The liberal media doesn't like it either, and will try to promote the Gore objections, in order to gain attention. Mr. Gore's childish tantrums, and the Democratic use of the Florida Supreme Court have done us a great disservice. We should learn that we are dealing with snakes and we should never forget this moment.
