Dual Use (Wheat & Tares Part I)

We know from the New Testament that God says believers must endure life with unbelievers until the day He calls us home permanently. We also know from the story of Joseph in the Old Testament that the evil his brothers used against him was used by God for good to save lives.

I dwell often in this column on the subject of exposing evil. I do this simply because in the somewhat prosperous American culture, I have seen too many believers lulled into complacency all too often, while Satan has infiltrated our churches and government to accomplish hideous quantities of evil behind our backs.

I have discovered over the last few months several historical facts about the notorious "Manhattan Project" that need to be brought to our attention. After all, we know from scripture that things done in secret will someday be shouted from the rooftops.

About the only thing the public knows that came out of the Manhattan Project was the atomic bomb. Public officials at the time claimed it was necessary to win the war against the evil aggressors in Japan. Yet freedom of information documentation now reveals that Franklin Roosevelt knew about Japan's planned attack on Pearl Harbor and let it happen. Roosevelt also appointed known communists into the State department during a time in history that the masses of the American population were completely ignorant about communism and its ties to demonic, occultic behavior. Harry Truman then, whether through evil intent or shear ignorance believed his state department and had the bombs dropped on 2 of the most insignificant cities in all of Japan, destroying little or no military facilities, yet killing thousands of women and children.

Devvy Kidd revealed more evidence recently that showed Manhattan Project money was used for development of a mysterious disease intended for germ warfare. Tracing the money, her documents show it resulted in the laboratory development of what we know today as AIDS. Through either conspiracy or negligence, we now see it devastating southern Africa and invading our own culture.

Yet with the insidious development of the atom bomb and AIDS coming from the project, I have also learned of some spin off technologies that resulted. Laboratory instruments necessary for the development of penicillin were made by one of the same companies working on the Manhattan Project. Numerous other advancements in instrumentation like Geiger counters and even air pollution monitoring equipment were created only because companies got a huge influx of cash originally for the Manhattan Project.

Now the argument is often presented that World War II brought the United States out of the depression. But the truth is that bankers had removed money from the American economy only to release massive amounts during the time of war. Historical M1 and M2 charts prove my point. We now need to look at what happens with massive influxes of newly printed money. New money always flows to the most popular, emotional topic of the time. In the late 70's it was real estate. Why? The largest group of baby boomers were hitting their late 20's and needing their first house. Another blast of cash hit in the late 90's. The bulk of baby boomers were now hitting their 50's and realizing they needed to get a retirement plan going fast. They looked to their stock broker for suggestions. The only thing people could get excited about was computers. Everyone (even me) shops on logic, but buys on emotion. Hence the high tech explosion up through 2000. Now many are licking their wounds from such irrational exuberance, but let's look at what happened during this cash storm. Microsoft managed to get an operating system that works a lot better than what they were selling in the early nineties. Intel got their chip speed up from 50 megahertz in 1992 to today's 1.4 gigahertz today. Hard drive manufacturers went from a few megabytes to 40 or more gigabytes available to the average consumer now. Modem speed went from 3 hundred bytes per second in the 80's to as high as 1.5 million bytes per second on some satellite, cable and DSL connections, today.

Yes a lot of high tech companies bit the dust. But how much shrapnel had to be spewed over the White Sands New Mexico desert to make a bomb that blew up where it was aimed versus other weapons that could blow up spontaneously if stored in a metal shed in the hot sunlight. I am not justifying development of the bomb or AIDS. But I am justifying the release of massive cash which as a spin off gave us penicillin and other GOOD things. If a finger of evil needs to be pointed anywhere, it is to the money loving bankers who intentionally invest in evil projects rather than funding good ones. It is the noble business man who develops what the customer wants, but uses his profits to also make something the public really needs. Some companies did in World War II. And to them, I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude.

I must summarize these thoughts with the key scripture that says the "love of money is the root of all evil." How can the bomb tie to the love of money? Who bought the bomb? The American taxpayer did. Why? They were told they had to kill an aggressor or lose their freedom. This was half-true. So while the emotion of the time said give us more money to buy the bomb, the bankers did what they do best, issued printed money at interest to satisfy the "demand." and sat back collecting interest on war debt for years to come.

Even a vulture deserves a meal now and then. The hippies of the 60's blamed the defense contractors on building up the Vietnam war. No. The defense contractors were just providing a product in demand by the US Government. But did anyone ask who was paying for the war. No. I was young and dumb myself. I was 18 and draftable in 1969 and scared for my life. I had no idea that the real answer to the war was in understanding economics and theology, not politics. Our international banking system was funding the war from both sides, like it has for the last 200 years. If we don't know who are real enemies are, we may continue to drop bombs on innocent individuals over and over again.
