Browsing the Highways

After spending way too much time on the Internet, I was on a driving trip through the Southwest this month. Here are a few passing observations.

Quartzite Arizona has a HUGE swap meet/flea market all winter long, appealing to snowbirds passing through. I compare it in size to the massive "Rose Bowl" swap meet held frequently in Pasadena, California. I found one of the best "Philly Cheese Steak" sandwiches that I can remember there.

When flying by tourist spots, and no time to pull over, it's great to be able to jot down a website like petrifiedwood.com and go back to shop later when I get home.

I forgot to bring my passport when passing through Texas. Shortly after entering the state, along Interstate 10, a checkpoint stopped me and a young soldier dressed in military "camos" asked me if I was a US citizen. Coming from California, I was startled. Half the voters in California can't speak English. What can I say? My Illinois born accent got me through the interrogation. A few miles down the road, a Texas Ranger pulled me over to inform me that a burned-out license plate light was a criminal offense in Texas. He let me off. But 10 miles down the road, another Texas Ranger pulled me over again and demanded I pull into the next truck stop and fix the burned out light. I met another motorist at the truck stop apparently charged with a similar offense. I have somewhat laughed at Alex Jones at Infowars.com for warning us all of a pending police state. But since his show originates inside Texas, I now see his reason for concern.

I saw regular gas prices ranging from $1.309 in New Mexico to $1.599 back in California.

Enjoying dry weather on my entire trip, I was surprised to return to Southern California in the middle of heavy rains and rolling blackouts. America learned about the Italian Mafia back in the 60's. The fall of the Iron Curtain introduced us to the Russian Mafia. Bill Clinton introduced us to the Arkansas Mafia. With the current energy crisis happening in California and spreading throughout the west, a couple of new Mafias are coming out of the dark. The US Oil and OPEC Oil Mafias. Listening to my favorite Internet Radio show, RadioLiberty.com, Stanley Montieth had another Masonic Lodge expert on this last week. It seems that ALL Mafias have roots that go back to secret societies, primarily the Masonic Lodge. It was also pointed out that Herbert Hoover, founder of the FBI was a Mason who only promoted fellow Masons. Rhodes Scholars are rooted in Masonic secret society operations and strive to control all governments in the world. So watching the California energy crisis unfold with state government now nationalizing the power lines, yet allowing grossly inefficient technologies to rule the supply of electricity to the grid, one has to ask: who is governing whom? Nikola Tesla had technological answers a hundred years ago. Somebody has kept them out of our hands thus far. Keep browsing the Internet. Answers are floating around. We have to grab them before someone "regulates" them out of our control.
