Uncommon $en$e, Part 2
Yesterday I asked why churches don't pay income tax when Christ appeared to command
EVERYONE to pay taxes. I also gave a web-site showing evidence that Bill Gates gives a
fortune to evil causes. Bill is not alone. The super rich from John D. Rockefeller and
Andrew Carnegie to Ted Turner have utilized the "tax free" foundation loop hole
to fund not only questionable projects, but downright evil.
The Wall Street Journal reported the Hewlett-Packard foundation gives in excess of $1
million a day, yes $1,000,000 every day, primarily to causes with a left-wing agenda.
Perhaps the "charitable giving" donation deduction started as a good intention
to fund helping the truly needy. But look what has actually happened down through almost a
century of income tax loopholes. The local zoning laws where MOST churches choose to build
their worship centers won't ALLOW transients to reside there even if the congregation
wanted them to. This was proven last year when a Baptist church in Orange County
California tried just that.
The backfiring economics of this problem is only a symptom to a GREATER evil that has
occurred. Students of accurate history and gun owners alike know the first thing a tyrant
does before marching over a country's population, is to disarm the citizens through clever
gun control legislation. What "weapon" did Christ command his followers to use
when "making disciples" throughout the world? Not the physical sword. That's in
the Muslim Koran, not the Christian Bible. God's WORD is described as a 2-edged sword. A
weapon of speech.
Are 501c3, nonprofit churches allowed to endorse candidates like Alan Keyes who
articulates Christian causes and values better than most pulpit preachers? A fund raising
letter I just got from the "Family Research Council" boasted that: "...FRC
is not involved in partisan politics and does not endorse candidates in any race for
public office." Why not? The government of the United States has effectively
DIS-ARMED the entire Christian community by telling them what they can and cannot say. Are
American churches any more powerful than the "approved state churches" in China?
I moved to a new community 8 months ago. When shopping for a church home I first visited a
small denominational church. I then visited a large, non-denominational church pastored by
a popular evangelist.
Sitting between them on the same street is a Nazi death camp named "Planned
Parenthood", founded by Margaret Sanger who Hitler used to structure the "master
race" ideals of the Nazi movement. The abortion clinic has an American flag flying 24
hours with bright flood lights all night. No doubt burning our tax money to power.
Assess these facts:
1. Evil organizations now get endless funding both from the super rich and Robin Hood
politicians.
2. Churches have been de-tongued by the IRS
3. Churches have been zoned into oblivion by local bureaucrats.
4. Televangelists tell me they need more... ?money?... to carry out the work of the Lord?
What's wrong with this picture? Can today's church, anywhere, say "silver and gold
have I none... but in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, rise up and walk?" Christians
that feed their minds from Internet Web Sites like this one know these things. Those that
vegetate in front of a controlled TV media don't.
