Glitch Prevention

It seems both RadioFreeCash and BePaid have catered to MS Internet Explorer users first. I tried to update some personal info on my BePaid profile last week and it didn't work. When I contacted BePaid, they said to use Internet Explorer. I did. It worked.

RadioFreeCash also has made their first primary player for use with Internet Explorer. They still have the old Netscape Beta player available but it doesn't work anywhere near as smoothly as the I.E. player.

For Netscape fans like me, I recommend opening up Internet Explorer, make your RadioFreeCash connection, then minimize I.E. and return to browsing with your Netscape. The I.E. player works amazingly well with a 56k connection. If you got discouraged with their first player, please give this new one a try. And try out different formats of music than you would normally listen to. They have about 200 formats. Many overlap slightly and may just have a
blend you like better than the same old same old.

Both companies are working on Netscape versions, but give no release dates.

I mentioned this some time ago, but I still get frequent e-mails wondering where the free pager is. The pager program expired. They did not make it clear in their initial promotion that it was only a temporary promotion. Personally, I think it only became temporary when they realized it was not profitable for them. To justify giving away a $70 pager and $250 worth of e-mail service means they have to bring in a lot of ads to cover their cost. It didn't happen. So just like many dot com start ups, they had to retrench and do something different. They now ONLY offer to pay you per ad to send it to your existing pager. I chose to pass on this. At a nickel an ad, they would have to send you 400 messages a month to cover your cost. No thanks. I think a hyper active child would be less annoying than that many pages.
