I'VE GOT YOU
UNDER MY SKIN

(WebToday, March 18, 2002)-- No, I'm not referring to the Cole Porter song made famous by Frank Sinatra or most recently by U2 but to the little microchip that,s coming soon to a heathen near you. A few months ago I reported on the VeriChip that,s being manufactured and marketed by Digital Angel, a subsidiary of the Palm Beach, Florida-based Applied Digital Solutions (see Digital Angel or Digital Devil? Pass the Microchips Please).
In the past few weeks I've received some very interesting emails regarding this article and felt in necessary to review what we now know and answer a few of the questions from those emails.
I'll start with Vicki V. from Barbados. Vicki asked if there have been any recent developments in Digital Angel's application to the FDA, and how favorable/unfavorable approval is likely to be?
Well Vicki, from the looks of things the FDA will approve the device in short order. It could take up to 18 months for FDA approval but I understand that there,s no reason to delay it and that the chip is on a fast track to becoming approved. ADS will start a pilot study utilizing some 50 volunteers out of over 2,500 who have expressed a desire to be "chipped.
An email from a gentlemen named Greg stated, "My question is simple, are there any other chips being designed, built and/or already in use for humans. If so what are the names of the chip, the associated companies and locations if possible. I enjoy reading
your articles and comments, keep them coming.
First off Greg, thanks for the encouragement. As far as other chips there are three that I know of; MicroCHIPS, in Cambridge, Mass., produces a product that delivers medicine internally; AVID, in Norco, Calif., produces and tracks pets implanted with its microchips; and Trovan, in Santa Barbara, Calif., has implanted transponders in animals in more than 300 zoos worldwide. ADS is way ahead of the pack with human chips, although expect some competition in the near future from one or more other companies.
William W. of Florida sent an email which stated, "I have just become aware of this product. I live in Florida near the plant where such devises are manufactured. I've been watching for this for a long time now. In regards to Rev. 13:16-17, it seems that this IS the start of the end, eventually the mark of the beast. Can you give me any links to where I can find more information on this product.
Indeed William, I agree that this looks like the mark of the beast. Following ADS's announcement back in July of last year that they were going to proceed with human testing, public outrage stopped them dead in their tracks. Then came 9-11 followed by Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl's kidnapping and murder which set the stage to put the VeriChip in the minds and hearts of those who deal with security.

On a related subject, an email from James H. in which he responded to my article, The False Prophet Revealed? "Phil, What you might not have realized is that the name Cardinal Lustiger, is an anagram for Cardinal Lucifer. In anagrams, one letter may be added or dropped, and one letter may be changed. Using English to translate names from Hebrew or French, as the case may be, is not always a perfect science, but the rules of anagrams can change.

The one email that worried me the most came from Alessandro P. who represents an Italian company interested in importing the microchip and asked for contact information for ADS.
There are literally millions of people who will not only welcome these chips but feel that they are a necessary part of becoming safer.
