Jerusalem Update #8

Greetings from Jerusalem!
Our hearts have gone out to those who were involved, or lost family from the
results of the terrorist attacks in the horror filled images of civilian
airplanes being used as weapons against America. We do not think words can
express the depth of feeling, revulsion, to see such acts of terrorism that has
cost the lives of so many people. Even more hurting is to contemplate just how
many were sent into eternity unprepared. We have been asked by a number of
people how we think this last weeks events may line up with Biblical prophecy,
could it be Revelation chapter 18? We do not think so! Revelation 18 indicates
the whole city, not just a few buildings. There is much that could be said,
which only could be covered in person, but some of the related details let me
attempt to convey.
We told the story several years ago, from one of our visits to Bethlehem, about
how we were told that when war is to happen against Israel that attacks would
also happen in other nations of the world. We think the events of this last week
against America are the beginning of a well-planned long-term assault, by the
world of Islam. Why against the world? Because it creates a diversion while the
assault against the real goal is jelled. Remember the Scripture in Ephesians
that states we fight not against flesh and blood but against the principalities
and powers of the air? We take what is seen in the "natural" as an
indication of "spiritual realities". The United States has been a
strong supporter of Israel. Israel is the first real target of Islam. It would
not be surprising to begin to hear very blatantly, "if the USA did not help
and protect Israel then the "attacks" would not have or would not
happen". We have already heard that Iraq is blaming Israel. But also this
last week has given a real boost to a "one World Government" with all
citizens becoming marked for identification! But there are still a number of
years yet to go for the full implementation of this... i.e. the middle of Daniel’s
70th week.
The events of this last week have opened the doors for "justification"
for nations to decide to move against other nations. After all, if the USA can
declare the "terrorist acts" are an act of war then so can the
"Arab Peoples" do so against Israel, or Israel against its enemies. We
have seen the inflamed propaganda sent out on television by the
"Palestinian Authorities" against Israel a great many times. We think
it is wrong that the "Palestinians" were blamed immediately this last
week before proof had been collected that they were guilty but that does not
dissolve the reality of the often-proclaimed statements that the USA is the
"Great Satan" (because of supporting Israel) and the burning of the
American flag on seemingly every occasion possible. After the tragedies of this
week we saw television news, which filmed the joy in dancing in a number of
"Palestinian" areas over the tragedies caused by the suicide plane
pilots crashing into the buildings and etc.
Israel has been under siege for a great many years by those who have stated they
want the right of return to 1948 borders of Israel, which would then nullify a
Jewish State. This is a direct assault against the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob. …Please read Jeremiah 31: 35-37 and Romans 15:8!
Again, …as next week will see Rosh Hashanah there are many who highly suggest
that the time of Daniel’s 70th week (Daniel 9:24) will soon begin … we do
not agree as a careful study of the Biblical prophesied coming wars will show
that before the last seven years, Daniel’s Week, there will be two major wars
with a "great" peace in between them. Daniel’s 70th week is not
"seven years of Tribulation and is not started by the
"anti-Christ". From scriptures we see that when the
"anti-Christ" does come on the scene he will destroy the treaty
initiator of the seven-year peace. We see that "The Tribulation"
begins after the anti-Christ makes his declaration that he is "God" in
a restored Jewish Temple. Again, we see that the Time of "Jacob’s
Trouble" is already past, 1938-1945, out of which was created the State of
Israel, just as Jacob’s name was changed to Israel after wrestling with the
angel. Confusion over the details of Daniel’s 70th Week will add to a
"Great Falling Away" from faith in Christ!
This last week we have also seen the headquarters of the Terrorist organization,
Tanzim, targeted by Israel in Ramallah just north of Jerusalem about 45 minutes
drive. And because of drive-by shootings in the Jericho area, which killed two
Jewish schoolteachers on their way to school, Israel surrounded Jericho and
entered with over 20 tanks. The area of Jenin was also surrounded and entered by
Israel. All of this in reprisal for attacks against civilian areas of Israel. We
feel that Isaiah chapter 17 is getting very close!
