Jerusalem Update #6

Greetings from Jerusalem!
Major gun battles started Monday evening against Gilo, Jerusalem, from Beit Jala,
which resulted in the Israeli Defense Forces moving into Beit Jala! We then had
three nights of little sleep. It was boom, boom, boom, ratatat-tat as the
automatic firing and tank shells exploded. Gilo was also hit with Mortar Shells,
one hitting across the valley from us, fired by the Palestinians. It shook the
house. The shooting also continued during the daytime. It was guessed that due
to new attacks starting from Bethlehem against the IDF that the lines would have
been pushed into Bethlehem but no, by Thursday morning the IDF was in a
negotiated pullout. It seemed obvious that the Palestinians were
"baiting" Israel in order to "get" the IDF into Bethlehem,
which would have made it far easier for "Palestinian reinforcements"
to join in from the Hebron areas. If the lines had pushed into Bethlehem then
Arafat would probably have had what he needed to get outside nations to make an
attack. We were told that the Bethlehem Mosques were using loud speakers to
inform all those having guns to join the fighting! When a pull-out was
negotiated, Arafat was to stop the shooting, but the shooting continued
sporadically against Gilo and IDF positions. Arafat demanded "for the
pullout" that Israel do it during the day, which would have given
propaganda pictures. After the "negotiated cease fire", as and after
the pull-out occurred, the "Palestinians" claimed they had
"driven" the Israeli’s out! Major rock throwing has continued
occurring in the vicinity of Rachel’s Tomb, Bethlehem. We were in Bethlehem
yesterday and today and some roads are again covered with rocks that were
thrown. It is hard to describe how discouraged some people are but we also think
this is a increasing time of drawing closer to the Lord! As we have prayed
asking the Lord to take people out who can leave, … it is an answer to hear
about those who have gone, even though some are friends.
We were sent by e-mail copies of accusations that the Israeli Forces were
swearing and cursing against Christianity while entering Beit Jala. But we have
not been told this by anyone from Beit Jala. On the contrary we were told that
Christian Arabs in Beit Jala were praying that Israel would totally taker over
the area again as it was under Israel, in peace, from 1967 until the Oslo
Agreements! Also "swearing" would not be heard, if it did occur, due
to the IDF being in Tanks or on foot shooting and the civilian populace were in
their homes. In the e-mail it was stated that also the IDF used children from an
orphanage as "human shields". This also is untrue! The public was
warned to stay off the streets and in their homes during Israel’s moving into
Beit Jala. There were no "children" used as "shields" or any
adults. Those on the side of Islam are putting out all the propaganda possible,
including hate mail, e-mail viruses and etc. Israel is in a war of not only
bullets but also words.
It has been reported that "Israeli unemployment" is asked to be
declared "a national emergency". Isaiah 17: 4?
Also reported: the Palestinian Authority is dumping hazardous materials, which
flow into Jewish areas.
It was reported that an 86-year-old woman who died and was declared dead in
Israel, revived several hours later while being washed for burial.
It has been asked that we send out more reports and more detailed, which we
would love to do but do not for these reasons… 1) detailed reports increase a
spirit of fear, which then influences those who might visit Israel to not come
and 2) we simply do not have time to detail all that happens each day so we try
to concentrate on things that have a more prophetical slant, i.e. news items
that help show the direction Israel is heading that lead to prophetical
fulfillments. Such as, ... while war may be eminent it also could be delayed for
some time, which would increase the "World’s" feeling of
"Jerusalem becoming a burdensome stone"! But when Isaiah 17 does
happen it will create a major crisis for all nations due to the threat to the
oil flow(s). It is asked, "Where do we think the USA is in all of
this?" Due to a friend going to the ancient city of Babylon and taking
pictures of the goddess depicted on the city walls, Ishtar, who wears a crown
and holds a torch we became convinced that "mystery Babylon" is very
likely the USA as the same goddess stands in the harbor of New York City. Also
the USA has the same "problems" which the goddess of Babylon
portrayed, which are witchcraft, pornography, drugs and child killing
(abortion). The book of Revelation states that "Mystery Babylon" is
destroyed in one hour. Mystery means something that is "hidden", which
certainly the statue given by the occult of France to the USA is a
"hidden" message in symbolism. But we do not think this
"hour" will come until those Jewish have a "pressured"
opportunity to immigrate to Israel.
