Dental Device Could Stop Snoring/Apnea

LONDON, ENGLAND, March 12, 2001 (Web Today)—How much would you be willing to pay for a device that could free you from the dangers of apnea, including increased risk of heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure?

How much would your spouse pay for that device that could put an end to your incessant snoring?

The price tag is 225 pounds sterling or roughly 500 US dollars.

British dentists have invented a non-invasive, anti-snoring device that slips inside your mouth, takes only about 15 minutes to fit and has had a smashing success rate during field tests.

Of 20 patients who have used the Zs device, only one has reported it a failure. It works by pushing the lower jaw slightly forward, opening the air passage to allow the entrance of additional oxygen.

Those who have recovered from apnea through use of the Zs device report better memory, fewer morning headaches and less daytime drowsiness.

To reduce time and expense, dentists do not need to make individual impressions or moulds and patients are taught how to adjust the Zs device for themselves.

There is no word, yet, as to its pending availability in North America
