Palestinian Justice on Display
THE GAZA STRIP, YESHA, (OCCUPIED ISRAEL), January 16, 2001 (Web Today)A quick arrest, a two-hour trial, then this.
When a Palestinian "traitor" gets his day in court, it ends in the courtyard with his back, literally against the wall.
The dead defendant was named Majdi Machawi. He and another victim of AK-47 justice were convicted of collaboration with the Israeli "enemy."
What you dont see is another video frame, taken less than 15 seconds later, where one particularly vengeful member of the firing squad approaches the lifeless body of Machawi and pumps another round through his skull at close range.
Palestinian Authority officials have promised more executions for others who allegedly have served the so-called Israeli "occupiers."
A Palestinian minister, Faisal Husseini, attempted to justify the death sentences by claiming that Palestine is "at war" with Israel.
While attempting to downplay the ugly reality of these scenes and deflect criticism from opponents in the European Union, Husseini was standing near a poster with the following Arabic inscription, "Palestine is Jerusalem, Haifa, Jaffa, Acre, Safad, the Galillee, Gaza and Nablus.
Interestingly, some of the areas claimed by that poster as part of Palestine are not now and never were considered part of the territory claimed by the Palestinians under terms of UN resolutions. Haifa, for instance is an Israeli seaport that has been an undeniable part of Israel since the foundation of the Jewish State in 1948.
Apparently, the Palestinians will not be content until they see every Zionist tied to a post in their courtyard.
