UN Now Controls 70 Percent of US Land Mass
WASHINGTON, D.C., December 14, 2000 (Web Today)Call it the "stealth treaty."
Liberal land grabbers and one-world dreamers lurking in the US Senate asserted United Nations control over 70 percent of American land use, sneaking provisions of the 1994 UN Convention to Combat Desertfication into what appeared to be 34 single-issue treaties.
By camouflaging the controversial sell-outs, most senators who raised their hands in support of the measures never knew they had just allowed the United Nations to set future US policies overseeing land development in an alleged effort to prevent the encroachment of desert areas.
The stealth vote occurred on October 18th and since no roll call was requested, there is no record of who supported the measure. Under terms of the treaty the UN can prevent the transfer of land from farmland to subdivision, the harvesting of trees for the purpose of pasture creation or pastureland to agricultural development.
Under terms of the international mandates, private and publicly held lands will be treated equally. The UN will establish the environmental policies and member nations like the US will be expected to enforce them.
Some observers believe President Clintons extensive federal land grabs were designed to ease compliance with the pending UN treaties.
Under terms of the treaty, it cannot be nullified by any ratifying body for at least three years.
Details of the sell-out are available at World Net Daily.
