Biography Deborah Shelton
A staunch pro-lifer since the 1970’s, Deborah has been writing about social injustices since the early 1980’s--working extensively as a reporter specializing in such social issues as welfare reform, euthanasia, teen suicide, institutionalization, homelessness, veterans issues and poverty.
She has and continues to serve in the field of cross-cultural missions and advocacy, working primarily with Native Americans, women, domestic violence victims, persons in crisis pregnancy situations and inmates, as well as their children. An avid horsewoman, street outreach on horseback continues to be an important part of the ministry.
She runs a safehouse in the four corners region and intends to soon open another, and continues to write on socially significant issues though now on a national level and beyond.
She serves on the board of Right to Life and is the regional coordinator for My Sister’s Keeper International. She has recently been appointed to the board of Amnesty Native America--a world-wide entity designed to protect and defend human rights across tribal boundaries on behalf of all aboriginal peoples.
